Medieval Frontiers
Medieval Frontiers tells a tale of survival and the harsh everyday life of the settlers in a remote valley, far away from civilization. You, the player, set out to hunt, tend to your land and livestock, and build houses, all to ensure the survival of your kin.
It falls upon you to gather enough provisions for the long and unforgiving winter, and to grant shelter to those who seek refuge in your distant settlement. However, you must beware of hunger, biting cold, wild beasts, and the ever-present threat of marauding bands, lurking in the shadows of the forest.
A notable feature is the system of needs and peculiarities of the villagers: Each inhabitant of the village bears their own soul and unique traits. Health, temperament, and hunger play a great role in how they carry out their work and how swiftly they gain experience. You can choose which skills you wish to nurture in your charges, to steer the fate of your village.

- Gather essential resources through the arts of hunting, farming, animal husbandry, and gardening
- Erect workshops and halls to craft finer goods and complex materials
- Hunger, bitter cold, scorching heat, disease, wild beasts, and marauding raiders threaten the life of your small community
- Prepare healing tinctures and balms to soothe wounds and cure illnesses
- Offer refuge to those seeking shelter in your village
- Each member of your settlement has their own needs, skills, and traits
- Choose wisely which skills your villagers should master to determine the fate of your settlement
Once it came to pass ...
You wake to the song of birds and the first rays of dawn’s light. Much labor lies ahead if you wish to lay the foundation of your new home swiftly. The others, trailing in your wake, shall surely arrive soon—and the weather in these parts can turn treacherous without warning.
And yet, you know in your heart that leaving was the right choice. Famine has ravaged the land. At some point, you stopped counting how many of your neighbors no longer went to fetch water at the village well. Others, too, have fled—left with their livelihoods in ruins, their patrons either dead or too poor to barter.
At least here, in the forest, there is food to be found. At least here, the brigands who roam the countryside, looting and killing all in their path, are less likely to discover you. You may even avoid the king’s men, scouring the land for fresh bodies to hurl into yet another meaningless war with England. And then, there are whispers of a strange plague spreading in the East.
No, you would rather endure the aching in every muscle. You find a strange joy in sleeping upon the bare ground behind a heap of sticks. You would give all for a better life—if not for yourself, then for your family. Here, in this harsh wilderness, lies your chance. You will thrive, even in these grim times. You will survive – at the frontier.
